You might be early to the party. Stuff like this is just hitting the manuscript wish lists of agents. And if they do find something, it's going to be at least the end of 2020 before it hits shelves. I'd say it's because an Asian themed scifi from a chinese writer did well at the Hugos a few years ago and they're also really looking for own voices right now.

(one was asking for Asian themed scifi like a month ago and I cursed because that MS is not REMOTELY complete on my hard drive. Sigh.)
