I don't know if it counts since it's an author, but I met Laurence Yep at a book signing and got all shy and tongue-tied. He was promoting one of his new books and I'd bought it, but I wanted him to sign my childhood favorite book instead. He got really excited when he saw the cover of my book since it was an older edition and the illustration was based on a picture of his mother. His enthusiasm made my shyness go away and I ended up gushing about how much I loved his books and he gave me a hug and some writing advice since I mentioned how I was struggling with my writing. He ended up signing both books for me and I was on a happy high for the rest of the day.
