Not sure if the secret is deliberately confrontational. I mean being ugly is not a sin. And I think that Webber tried his best. Sequels are often shit.

OP of the sentiment if not the secret itself—thanks, FS secret harvesters!—and yeah, it’s a bit confrontational, but only if your initials are ALW and you’re a member of the House of Lords. Hell, I’m ugly. In saying that Lord Andy is ugly, I’m repeating what any number of wags have said over the years, playing up his resemblance to the title character in PotO. His looks aren’t really the point of the secret so much as they’re a parallel that many critics pointed out between him and the Phantom. It’s the plot of LND and his role in writing/producing it that are creepy, not his looks.
