Yeah, the ending definitely had a negative impact retroactively on my view of the character. But I started watching CM after Prentiss was a thing, and it was striking how different the two actresses abilities are, which is distracting when watching older episodes, and is a bigger detriment than what happened to Elle.

Still, I would've rather a better ending for the character. I never like when a main character is killed or fucked over by writing. I'd rather they just retire to live on a beach or something.
