I mostly enjoy playing Pokemon Go.

But I hate that the game is trying to force me to be social. I have tried to make myself do some of the things, like I joined a local group so I can at least attempt some of the raids to get some of the special pokemon.

I feel so out of place, though, as a casual player. There are so many hardcore players in the group who look down on people who don't play the way they consider "right".
And I definitely don't play "right". :(

Sorry your local group is full of assholes. Most of the people I’ve encountered while playing are friendly and willing to help newbies/lower level players, but I don’t really love meeting up with strangers either. A good line that has worked for me if someone is taking the game too seriously is “Yeah, I mostly play for Pokédex completion” and leave it at that.
