Wow, what idiots! I've been playing since the start, but I'm a rural player, so I don't even have a Slaking yet! I think you've run into a group of hardcore dickheads and I'm sorry you did.
I haven't seen Ho-Oh outside gyms yet, but Zapdos and Articuno were originally the first 5-star raids and they've shown up in research since, so I think it's just a matter of time.

I imagine it must be really difficult as a rural player. I'm fortunate enough to live in a city where there are like 20 pokestops/gyms within a mile radius of my apartment. Hopefully you can find/evolve everything at some point!

I wish it were just confined to that group, but it feels like three quarters of the local people I can interact with are really intense. And I feel judged a lot of the time. (Even if not directly judged, I hear things that apply to me.) I didn't grow up with Pokemon, so I feel like I'm missing knowledge or something and am such an idiot newb. So interacting with anyone is really awkward and uncomfortable for me. I just wish there were a group of casual players and a group of more intense players or something. IDK.

Oh, nice. I did get Zapdos from research, so that is something. I will hope for the others at some point.
