Re: I cannot binge watch.

No comment on the binge watching (I actually did binge watch Stranger Things, and I have such a low attention span that shows I can successfully binge are few are far between). But on the creepy/gross - I didn't find Stranger Things scary at all, and I'm the biggest wimp in the world. Can't do scary, can't do gore. Nearly zero tolerance, especially for jump scares. But I never really got that sense from Stranger Things. I get it had a creepy vibe, but the fun goonies-esque atmosphere sort of overrode that for me. I never would've thought some people got scared by it.

There was only one event in season 2 that bothered me, but it wasn't shown on screen and it was more the principle of the thing. (people who've seen it can probably guess what I'm referring to)

ayrt

Some of it is due to how aurally focused I am, the screeching, the sound when that damn thing's legs popped out, the sound of anything going through a barrier into the Upside Down, the thumps and barely on the edge of perception bass notes, all if it makes my skin crawl. (There's also whatever Jonathan's actor is doing with his voice - I don't know if it's because of the accent or he's going for a type of timidity/shyness, but it sounds unnatural to me.) Part of it is just the atmosphere they build. And probably part of it is the allusions to other TV shows and movies and the connections and associations I have to things like The Shining, Poltergeist, E.T., War of the Worlds, etc.
