I love doing legal work. I love doing immigration work. I don't love that my boss has me doing a lot of paralegal work. I don't like that he won't take me on as a full-time employee. I don't like that I don't get as much client interaction.

I love (most) of my co-workers and my boss. I love how close it is to my house. I like how laid back they are in regards to clothes and hours.

I hate how they are always trying to teach me new stuff. Good because it makes me more valuable. Bad because I just want to do my shit. I also hate how the sales managers never ask us before promising more unit. And then bitch when we oversell.

I love my students, I like most of the parents, I like my coworkers, and I like my school.

I hate administrators and standardized testing.

Love: good bosses, ability to telecommute when needed (not to be abused, of course), PTO, insurance, close to home, ability to relocate

Hate: the work itself. I just don't feel I'm the person for the job, and it's not what I want to do for the rest of my life. Too much sitting. Too many people thinking they have the right to walk through the office (which I share with one of those well-meaning but almost doormat-like folks, and unfortunately they travel a lot, often leaving me to be the bitch who says "you need to contact the help desk"). People complaining I'm not social enough for them.

I love my work in the sense that I enjoy the actual duties, but honestly, I fucking HATE a large majority of my co-workers. They're lazy, careless, give no shits unless it affects them, have no work ethic (calling in 'sick' to go Black Friday shopping), and just generally are useless cunts.

Plenty of time to read and study. The customers are polite at worst and super kind at best. I've only gotten annoyed with someone like once.

It's boring as piss and I'm underpaid because there's a LOT of downtime. Luckily the owners know I'm not there forever, and I'm trying to get to Starbucks as quickly as I can, because I don't have health insurance, they pay better, and it's a lot more active.

Like: the fact that I can take my time to do certain stuff instead of rushing in to hand everything right away.

Hate: talking to people. Because 90% of the time all I hear is complains. Just leave me alone.

I love that it involves both office work and outdoor physical labor.I love that I can dress casually for the office and no one expects me to wear makeup or heels. I love that it involves some travel, even if it's usually not very far afield or to especially interesting places. I love that I still find it interesting and engaging work, even after 15 years. I love that people always think it's really interesting when I tell them what I do.

I hate that it doesn't pay more than it does given the level of education required to get a job like mine. I hate that there have been times where I've had to be away from home very frequently or for long periods and the negative impact that has had on me in terms of a social/romantic life, as well as logistical issues/basic life stuff. I hate that sometimes I have to work outside in really shitty weather. I hate that there are not enough jobs like this on the ground that you don't get much choice in where you live if you want a job (I like where I live, but I moved here for the job, not because I would have chosen it).
