Share some plot twists you hate from media you otherwise enjoy.

The end of My Sister's Keeper (since it is on the mind). Loved the book up until then.

Is Glenn surviving on TWD by using the dumpster a plot twist? Or just lazy writing? Or both?

Pretty much any time a character's parent who was assumed to be dead is actually alive. I don't always mind a character 'coming back from the dead' but it irks me when the person has/had kids that they left behind. Losing a parent is really traumatic, especially when you're young. And 9/10 times it isn't handled well in the story - like, the parent just pops back into the character's life, and there's some shock at the start, and then all is supposed to be forgiven. (I have strong feelings about this, apparently. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

Me too! I absolutely HATE this. Especially when, out of the blue, dad comes back, and then the adult son or daughter is suddenly sacrificing EVERYTHING for them and their friends are supposed to understand because "it's my dad". No, you idiots, that person hasn't raised you, you don't know them from Adam, and DNA doesn't make them "your dad". (I spent far too long trying to think of what the going thing for "angry smiley" is to go here, and I've given up.)

My friend fell backwards off a third story balcony and popped up off the ground and said "whoops". Sometimes you just have satan in your corner. I have no idea. Part cat motherfucker.

I was visiting some family in northern California when there was a news story about a teenager on a school field trip across the Golden Gate Bridge who suddenly decided he was going to jump off it and did. Mind you, people jump off this bridge to commit suicide (I heard the official cause of death is usually drowning because the force of impact knocks them out). He was fine, though, but he narrowly missed landing on some wake boarders, who chewed him out for nearly getting someone killed. Classmates said he was always doing ridiculous stuff. I was actually kind of irritated he survived because that sounds like someone who should not be in the gene pool. I get that young dudes tend to have reckless streak, but jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge is just several levels beyond acceptable.

Spoilers for The Village

I was completely on board with this film until the reveal of "IT'S A FAAARCE, they're just guys in costumes lol"

Like, way to suck the tension and atmosphere out of it. I love anything vaguely horror-related set in woods/forests and was genuinely creeped out and then, boom.

I was okay with that part, but frowned severely at the LOL IT'S IN MODERN TIMES AND THEY'RE JUST SUPER ISOLATED AND LIED TO ending.

That film had amazing visuals and tension, but... knowing who directed and knowing there was a twist, I guessed it pretty easily.

I must be the only person who liked The Village. I had started to wonder if this wasn't really the "olden days" (one guy had very modern-looking machine stitching on his shirt collar, but I couldn't rule out wardrobe department laziness*) but I didn't know why there wouldn't be things like airplanes flying overhead or distant train whistles or anything like that. When they explained that, I was like, "Okay, neat" and was cool with it. I'd never seen any of his movies before, so while I'd heard all about them and knew he was Mr. Big Twist, it wasn't already tired for me and I didn't feel tricked or anything.

*I'm told there is also modern re-bar visible in the cemetery fence at the beginning.

When the mystic forces in a horror movie/book/etc. turn out to have really been Aliens all along. So boring.
