I get you, nonny. What I do is I make it special myself. I celebrate it all out, even if just for me. Hell yeah, let's have that cake I want, and wear what I want and hey, sure, I'm going to go to that movie I've been wanting to see and when I get home I'm not going to do anything but crack open that book I've been dying to read.

I live on my own and I've found that, really, the best way to make days special is to make them special. I buy myself flowers and chocolates for Valentine's Day, I've made my own Christmas Eve/Day rituals to go through and enjoy, things like that.

It's great when other people are there to celebrate with you, but it doesn't always happen. So it's important to take the time out for you to make it an important day for you, if it matters to you.
