My favourite part of this show is how North Americans are constantly surprised by things in other countries, like how small some places are, and laundry in kitchens, etc. It's amusing.

Hahaha, this. Sometimes it's a little embarrassing watching fellow Americans gush about how much they looooove this new culture and want to experience it... but with huge, American-sized kitchens and bathrooms.

To be fair, there are a fair number of people who do that in North America on other home hunting shows. "I want it to have a really big yard and be close to the city center of a major city, in a quiet neighborhood, but I don't want it to be too expensive."

Or "I want it to be a 5 minute commute to my work in the business district of this huge city, but I want it to be a country sort of feel [read: rural]."

That's just not the way real estate works.
