Gehhhh, I think that's a little unfair? The fact that men are into it is a precondition for being able to do it, and that's a bad thing. But it's not really an accurate summation of those storyline to say that's the only reason they're there.

I'm not saying that those existing lesbian love stories exist only for male titillation. They may well be solid stories that hold a lot of narrative weight. But it's hard for me to give brownie points to lesbians in sci-fi and similar genres because beautiful young hot lesbians are disproportionately represented compared to beautiful young hot gay men. And the reason why is pretty obvious.

I'm not mad about there being lesbians, just to be clear. I'm also just not impressed.
