I refuse to love and adore Dorian just because he's written by a gay man. I think he's a bland bundle of annoying "white sassy gay dude" stereotypes whose whole story basically comes down to "My daddy doesn't accept me being gay". He looks ridiculous as well.

A) Dorian's not white
B) Dorian's dad tried to mindrape him. Real world terms, sent him to gay conversion therapy.
C) You are free to dislike any character in the universe, but if you feel the need to defend your dislikes, maybe list reasons that are factually accurate, at least.

1. Doesn't matter if the character is actually light-skinned, he has a lot of white guy characteristics (like his "oh but slavery is totally cool" attitude that never really gets addressed, at least not in a way that makes any impact). He also registers as a tan/mediterranean white dude to me.

2. Yes. And that's sad and all but it's still a plot that I don't like. I prefer gay characters whose story isn't all about them being gay and not much more.

3. Nothing you said actually "factually" contradicted what I said.

Finally! I thought I was the only one that didn't like him. Agree with your reasons too.
