111 Don't you think you'd be better off making this assertion AFTER seeing the actual movie? (Trailers don't count.)

115 Please God, let this be fake.

125 Way to compare two completely unrelated things. HEY LET'S COMPARE HARVEY DENT TO ANY FICTIONAL DA OR LAWYER NOW

140 At least people are jealous of you. Instead of hating your work, or just ignoring it (that's the worst).

144 I liked Cally but their relationship was fucked up and co-dependent.

153 Let me get this straight -- you're female, and you don't think you're SUPPOSED to be attracted to masculine men?

WHAT

I think the yaoi fanbase is mainly comprised of either closet lesbians/bisexuals or women who are either really intimidated by men or want to get with weaker men who they can dominate and control. Because I simply refuse to believe that most fangirls would actually rather get with a feminine man IRL than a guy with some muscle tone and actual fucking facial features.

(The remaining portion of the fanbase are females and gay men who just want to see dudes getting fucked in the ass. I can respect that.)

177 Enjoy ruining your vision faster than you normally would've.

181 It also looks like someone didn't really attempt to draw anything complex in that show either.

Please tell me you're not serious about that.

And random PROTIPS: There has been some psychological studies that most women prefer androgyny features, especially in Japan. Also there's studies that while women would like to fuck the stereotypical macho male, they rather marry and be with guys that a tad feminine. And not a lot of women outside of slash, prefer beefy guys either, that I know.

And bara's not that different, I read bara where the bottom was dominated as well.

IAWTC

Males and females both have two parts to their attractions. Those they would fuck and those they would marry and sometimes, they widely diverge from one another.

Talk about a blanket statement.

I think this probably has a lot to do with perceived dominance more than anything else. The point I was making was that women like men that are less masculine because they are less threatening and easier to dominate, that's all.

Re: 153

(Anonymous) 2008-08-19 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
It's more they think they more masculine men as less faithful, less warm, lower potential to be able fathers and less healthy. No want to dominate in sight.

That doesn't make any logical sense -- but then again, someone's perception of a person based on physical characteristics and gender doesn't have to make sense, I guess.

Just another reason why I don't understand humanity in general.

153

wow. way to generalize and make sweeping blanket statements.

I'm just sick and fucking tired of all the androgynous fucking men. I like to see characters who look like men. In anime the whole androgyny thing wasn't even common until the 90s. I just get sick and fucking tired of seeing the same damn thing over and over.

(Anonymous) 2008-08-19 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
LOL whut? Legend of the Galatic Heroes? Macross had feminine looking men. My god, I will not even fucking touch shoujo which makes the girly boys of today look macho. Bishounen and shows with him as dominate characters existed for a long time before the 90s.

Hell, there's more stuff without girly-looking boys today than before. All you need is to LURK MOAR.

No, no there's not.
And you're a terrible troll.

I love being called a troll by someone who unable to backup their argument and consorts to calling names.

Seriously, is that all you got?

I don't have to go through the trouble of making screenshots of every eighties anime you haven't seen and doing side by side comparisons in style just to "win" an internet argument with your dumb ass. Considering that shoujo style character designs have leaking into non-shoujo anime series, and are now evident in the most popular series (as a ploy to attract a female demographic and make money), I don't think I need to make an argument. This wasn't true in the eighties when each genre had its own specific style of character design (in the seventies it was even more pronounced and stylized).

Also anonymous (LOL coward) + stupid fucking argument = troll EVERY TIME

(Anonymous) 2008-08-19 07:24 am (UTC)(link)
I'm only anon to keep the batshit fans away, bb. I've encountered them before. But good job trying to disregard my point. Didn't work, btw.

And FYI: I was exclusively watching 80's anime until the early 00's. Bishounen even in non-shoujo existed. Mobile Suit Gundam and Zeta Gundam had bishounen in their time (wouldn't look like it now, but Char was/still is immensely popular with the Japanese ladies and shower scene fanservice and the occasional WTF? screencap). Macross and Legend of the Galactic Heroes had bishounen as well. Locke the Superman and Oedo City 808 had a major bishounen characters. Samurai Troopers had a mostly bishounen cast. And, Saint Seiya... was a garden of bishounen, dear god.

But then again, what does have to do with bara or BL? They existed before the 90s and they were pretty damn girly then. Like The Song of the Wind and Trees and stuff like that.

[identity profile] childings.livejournal.com 2008-08-19 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
No, just harder to draw. It's easier to draw dots for eyes than a eyeball with a pupil and iris, folds of the eyelids and eyelashes. I'm not saying one is better, just that it's a stupid comparison considering what is being attempted.

(Anonymous) 2008-08-19 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
Nope. and that is why it is a secret.

The whole "wanting to be a Japanese citizen" thing is a phase that a lot of people go through and isn't really anything to be ashamed about, I guess.

Re: 115

(Anonymous) 2008-08-19 04:09 am (UTC)(link)
I don't want to be a Japanese Citizen. I lived then when I was younger. Not the most fun I ever had living outside the states. I just like the stories better and not so trusting of the subs I get.
