I liked both actually. For their similarities, and for their differences too. Movie V was so much more human and relatable, and it was delightful seeing a whole new idea of him, while keeping the core real.

Comic V was a scary ass mofo, and though I loved him too, I couldn't relate.

there was no way to directly translate the comic into film. It would have been crap. It needed to be altered, and I thought they did a great job. Was it Moore's version? No, but it wasn't a bad one either.

And to your point about the Evie/V thing; I have mixed feelings on that, so I don't entirely disagree.

Really? See, the whole point of V was that he wasn't human. You weren't supposed to be able to relate to him as a person, but rather, to be inspired by his ideals. He was a metaphor for anarchy. Now, Evie could fall in love with him, sure, but having V fall for her really infuriated me. /$0.02

Oh I agree on the idea being you follow his ideas, not the man behind them, but I always considered him a human being. But a man who put his humanity away, and made himself into something other.

I think they still did that in the film, but you got to see a little beyond the face he gave the world. I liked that. The comic wouldn't have been the same, had Moore done that, but it worked in the movie for me.

No question that they aern't the same character, but they are cut from the same cloth.

Oh, and as an aside, you putting in /$0.02 made me crack up.
