People leave a comment in the 'secrets you're to lazy to make' thread that someone starts on F!S every other post, almost.

Someone sees that comment, and makes it into a secret, and it's posted in the next batch of secrets.

Good? Or Bad? You decide.

Probably because it's a term specific to this community, AFAIK. It's basically what tabaqui said, comment! Secrets are secrets someone made from someone else's comment.

I love 'em. Someone made a secret out of a post I made, and it was great - not only that someone agreed with me, but that they agreed with me enough to make a proper secret of it!

I don't mind in the sense that we need all the secrets we can get. But it seems a little weird to me to make secrets that aren't even your own.

Well, you've already mentioned a good reason to do it - the community needs secrets. Making obe on someone else's behalf doesn't seem that weird. A lot of people don't have the time or inclination to make secrets, so why shouldn't someone else do it? There are regular threads on the gc for just that purpose.

It's great! Someone made a secret out of one of my comments and I felt so flattered. Plus, they made the secret way prettier than I ever could.

I love them because I literally only have and want one email address as far as online presence goes and hence have no place to upload secrets. I’ve been commenting here for years but never made any secrets before people started harvesting comments.
