IDT the OP was talking about the death itself, but the way no one but Xander and... the other kid whose name escapes me... seemed to even care about her.

Yeah, that is why my first comment was about how the death happened less than 10 minutes ago. They all lost a shit ton of people. I am sure if they had another season, they would have addressed all this. But instead they had one ending scene.
