I'm not a die-hard C/E shipper, but I do like them together. That said, I would also like these two together. The characters on this show have insane chemistry.

But yeah, the soul mates thing was obviously Michael's BS. I think that's the important message of this season in particular - free will. The idea of soul mates is not compatible with choosing the people who matter the most to you and choosing to be the kind of person you want to be.
