To be fair, they did try to stop production of Beanies (though I'm sure that was just a publicity stunt) at one point, so to the average collector, it would have made sense to hold onto the toys at that point. But of course, then they "decided" to continue, making everything basically worthless (which, tbh, was the best thing to happen to them).
