No actually I am quite familiar with Marilyn Manson and his bullshit ideas so I can say with some authority that he is in fact a moron. I think you need to unplug your headphones and get in touch with reality. I'm going to go ahead and assume that you don't pay taxes or live on your own or else you would't have such childish opinions.

People who don't agree with your regular, mainstream political opinions are out of touch with reality and childish, that's a convincing argument you've got right there.

I'm 28, have lived on my own and paid taxes and bills since college. How old are you, dollygrrrl?

ROFL you're just whippin' this chick.

She's loving it, she keeps coming back for more!

Um, yeah. If you actually paid attention to the world around you, you might care enough to vote. But that's cool, if you actually think Marilyn Manson (whom I actually like) should be president, you probably shouldn't be allowed to vote anyway.

I hope you were joking.

I know I shouldn't get upset about things like this, but I can't help it.

I'm a lesbian who grew up in a poor family. I love fandom to death, more than almost anything. But when it comes to who is going to be president, let's keep in mind that we're talking about the guy who will get to say whether or not I have a right to choose, whether or not gay people are abominations or citizens, and whether or not we're going to focus on helping the poor get settled or the rich get richer.

So if you can't get behind any of that, shut the fuck up. I'm gonna go canvass for Obama now.

[identity profile] vilify.livejournal.com 2008-08-22 06:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Agreed. Manson's one of my favorite musicians, but as far as politics go I would much rather hand the presidency to someone who's studied law and been involved with the nation in a positive way. You know, someone who knows what they're doing.

Everyone has opinions, and every opinion is valid. Having an opinion doesn't make one qualified to lead.

I feel very sorry for you, 28 years old taxpayer, if you are so out of touch with reality as to honestly believe that a drug addicted, middle aged man in lipstick who thinks peeing on people is funny should be PRESIDENT. Oh but wait, he has some opinions on religion and maybe even the war in Iraq, he must have what it takes. Maybe I have the same views as him, boy howdy, does that mean I can be president too!?

I think you are majorly missing their point, although it is true that their point is expanded upon elsewhere rather than here.

"a drug addicted, middle aged man in lipstick who thinks peeing on people is funny should be PRESIDENT"

As opposed to a druggie alcoholic middle aged man not in lipstick, who thinks sending people to the electric chair is funny? Or his cronies, or their opposite number in the House of Mirrors?

Sure, I'd rather put someone in who'd take a stand against the arms trade, yes.

You're arguing with a 20 year old who thinks she knows everything, you may as well give up.

So replacing a horrible president with someone equally horrible just because his views are slightly more realistic is acceptable? God forbid we put a decent intelligent person into office for once.

Girl, that is exactly what the current system does!

God forbid we put a decent intelligent person into office for once.

If it were possible to put a decent, intelligent person into office at the head of a system that wasn't already hopeless corrupted by voting, more of us would care to do it.

Some of us have moved beyond baby steps in politics and reality.

As the only thing I know of Marilyn Manson's political ideas are what he said in Bowling for Columbine, could you tell me what some of the rest of them are?

Re: 101

(Anonymous) 2008-08-20 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
I'm waiting to see if she knows what any of them are. In some amusement.

Yeah, I want to know what Marilyn Manson is going to do about social security, and how he plans to resolve the Iraq conflict (I'm sure he's well-versed in diplomacy and strategic foreign policy).

Re: 101

[identity profile] cdaae.livejournal.com 2008-08-20 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
Personally I'm hoping for a strikingly new and innovative approach, like solving the social security crisis by eating senior citizens, or something.

Hey, it'd shake things up a bit!
