So I recently made homemade stovetop mac and cheese for the first time ever. The sauce was a little tricky. I made a roux and gradually added whole milk, thickened it, and then extra sharp cheddar. fjdkajffdklasfjew omg I could eat nothing but that for months.

Tonight I roasted some pork in the crock pot and decided to try roasting some sweet potatoes in the oven to go with it (another first). It was amazing, such a perfect fall meal. I sliced them about 1/2" thick and coated them with olive oil, brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, and garlic powder. WOW.

Wow, sounds delicious!
I...try very hard not to cook at all if i can help it, but i did make some chocolate cupcakes (box mix livened up with sour cream, semi-sweet chocolate, and cream-cheese frosting).

I love roasted sweet potatoes! But it's kind of a pain to clean the pan afterwards so I seldom make them.

Line the pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil? Dunno if wax paper would be sturdy enough.

I don't think wax paper is good for actual baking but I might try the aluminum foil (or the parchment paper if I can find any.)

When I roast vegetables, I line the pan with aluminum foil. Cleanup is a breeze!

I’ve been cooking a lot of tofu and veggie sort-of-stirfry, with onions and peppers and winter squash, and also a thing with potatoes and broccoli and green onions and garlic and yogurt that I ruin as far as healthy goes with cheese and butter. I nuke a potato with the skin on and then the broccoli separately, then mash them roughly in a bowl with the other stuff and some cayenne and garlic salt (and then I go scare vampires, heh.) It’s supposed to heat back up again this week but the minute it cools off again I’m gonna make veggie and bean soup.

I think the last thing I cooked that I was really happy with how it came out was gnocchi in a mushroom cream sauce.

The other day I cooked cottage pie with my gf - we put garlic in the mashed potatoes and berbere spice in the meat.

Tonight I’m making roasted parsnips and tilapia.

I made a beautiful pomegranate jelly layered with rosewater panna cotta, topped with a slice of Turkish Delight (the jellies were made in martini glasses, so the Turkish Delight was stuck on the edge like a slice of lemon), a swirl of orange blossom fairy floss, and the edges of the glasses were dipped in pistachio praline.
It tasted great, and I forgot to take a picture.

I just made a cake from a boxed mix to test out the oven in my new place. It works! Used a bundt pan because it's fun and you don't feel obligated to frost it.
