Brock Samson has done a lot of crazy things in his life-- changing his name is something he hardly remembers, like most of the details about his childhood. He was-- he thinks-- about seventeen or so, and drunk, and angry all the time, and horny, and for some reason he'd hit on the name Brock and decided it was manlier than Cody, more likely to get him girls, more likely to get him into his dream job as James Bond's successor. (Movies or not, Brock believed there really was a Bond, and he wanted that job so bad he could taste it).

Riding an eagle-- that's something he remembers late at night between the awful dreams and after all this time he thinks that that's all it is, a dream, and there's no one around to correct him. Mice don't live very long, and in any case, they have their own jobs to do.

He still has the knife, tucked in the trunk under his bed, but Brock and Cody are two very different people now, and that's how Brock prefers things, really.
