"Bloody hell," Luxord leans his head back on the cool stone of one of the ruined pillars and clutches at his side, blood seeping through the tear in the leather. "I am never going on a mission with you again."
"Keep it together, Brit," Xigbar finishes reloading his gun. "We're going to need to work together to get out of here."
Luxord opens his mouth to retort, none too content that there is a hole in his side, when one of the creatures roar again. They both feel Reality react, but the sound shakes Xigbar's bones more heavily. They are suddenly falling up into the sky as the silvery dragon with the pink pearls in its armour charges a beam in its mouth.
"Oh, damn it," Xigbar mutters.
The beam fires, searing across the distance and empty air and nearly catching Xigbar in the chest.
They feel Reality shift again, and they're falling back towards the ground. Luxord eyes flash gold for a second and they fall so slowly they're able to straighten themselves and land on their feet.
"Look for shelter!" Xigbar commands as they choose a direction and take off running across the cracked tiles. "Sounds like Palkia is recharging."
"That thing has a name?" Luxord shouts.
"'Course it has a name. Practically a god in this world. Controls Space, like me."
"I don't suppose I have a godly equivalent here, do I?"
A draconic foot steps on a pillar that had toppled over and reduces it to pieces. A dark blue dragon with blue diamonds in its armour. It exhales through it's nostrils, hot breath in the cool night air.
"Of course you do," Xigbar replies. "That's Dialga."
It roars, and the two Nobodies are frozen in Time. It too starts to charge a beam in its mouth, and nearly succeeds in killing them. Luckily, Luxord is able to break free of the Time-Hold and runs, dragging Xigbar out of it and the beam's range.
"Alright, like I said before. We're going to need to work together to get out of here. No way we can outrun gods forever."
"Especially dragon gods."
"Right, so now we just-"
Palkia roars again, and they fly up into the sky.
"-buy our time," Xigbar grins maniacally, and he suddenly stops in midair. Luxord keeps floating up, but he watches as the Freeshooter summons a dark purple orb and lets it go. It falls up too; all Luxord has to do is activate his powers and touch it, hopefully it'll open a portal out of this dimension and-
It stops. The orb stops. Dialga is smart, and was watching them. Far below, both dragons are readying themselves to beam them out of existence.
"Brit!" Xigbar shouts, close to panic (if that was possible).
"I'm on it!" Luxord shouts back, and throws one of his cards at the orb.
There is a sound like an explosion and before he knows what's happening the orb has sucked his entire card deck out of his pockets and has turned into a swirl of gold, purple, and black.
And then he is floating through stars.
Xigbar doggy paddles up to him through the silence and grins.
"You owe me a new deck of cards," Luxord said.
