Someone requested another crossover meme, but -- why stick with just crossovers? Here's your chance to request things from any fandom you like -- especially if the fandom is small, obscure, or has no request type of meme available. Hopefully someone else will come along and fill it out, or someone else's request will spark something off in your head that you just have to write --

So here you go!

PAN-FANDOM FANWORKS MEME

I've never written HHG before, so I hope you like it.

~

When Random first told her father that she was dating Ford Prefect, first he taught her some new English swear words even Ford hadn't taught her about, and then he grounded her for a month.

Of course, since Random was about thirty-five at this point, it didn't do much good, but she did worry about him when he turned that shade of purple. And though all fathers believe that their daughter's dates aren't good enough for them, Arthur really seemed to take that concept to heart.

"But what could you possibly have in common?" he sputtered after he ran out of bad words to call Ford, inventing a few as necessary. Ford Prefect might have been his best friend, the man who saved his life several times (though only once on purpose and the rest through example), but Arthur simply couldn't approve of him dating his daughter. There was something very, very off about it, and he was beginning to see little spots behind his eyes again when Random answered.

"Oh, plenty, Father. Both children of planets we never knew with parents the only survivors thereof, both a great disappointment to said parents... both journalists..."

"I knew I shouldn't have let you get a job with the Guide," Arthur mumbled. Random sighed. She patted her father's cheek, noting the odd scruff of it. The older Arthur got, the rougher he became. It was sort of like he was being slowly sandpapered down to nothing by an uncaring god. The thought was upsetting-- Random still thought of time as more of an inconvenience than something necessary-- so she hugged him as well.

"I'm happy, Daddy," she said. "Shouldn't that matter?"

Arthur sighed. "I'm your father," he said. "It really doesn't."
