Well, as an atheist, all I can say is...that's death for ya. Better than the concept of hell, anyway.

except that the Buffyverse has both 1)afterlives and 2)at least one *good* afterlife/heaven

Except, Buffy's idea of heaven is being drugged out/blissed out with no idea of where you are or even who you are, apparently. So doesn't sound very heavenly to me personally.

But Buffy's view is also colored by the fact a) that she was tired of life by the time she died and b) She's mad at her friends for pulling her out of it. We have no true idea if she was truly 'blissed out' or simply at peace in heaven. So she's sort of an unreliable narrator in this case.

This is the only Buffyverse heaven we have, so claiming PSTD-ridden Fred's experience would be qualitatively different doesn't shine for me. She spent 5 years in the demon dimension as a human slave. I bet she's pretty wrung out, herself.

Anyway, existing in eternal drugged out ignorance...something to look forward to, I guess?

They're not saying Fred's experience would be different, they're saying that Buffy may not be reliably remembering or describing her experience.

Exactly.

doesn't matter if it was "heavenly", as a concept both exist in buffyverse so arguing that death is ceasing to exist is incorrect. you continue to exist somewhere.

How is your belief system relevant to a fictional world where both heaven and hell and other dimensions canonically exist? Is atheism the new veganism?
