And I feel like a lot of people have a hateboner for her because she's damn gorgeous. I've never seen anyone get as much hate as her.

I think a lot of the hateboner was that she kept crying and getting a pass from Paul. I thought that the accusations she was having an affair with Paul were stupid (and turned out to be even more so when she came out!) because Paul loves two kinds of people: a young guy he will joke with and build up until he crushes him for one mistake, and pretty girls who cry. Ruby just happened to be very pretty, and very teary! So a bad situation all round.

Disagree. Kimberly was just as gorgeous and doesn't get the amount of criticism. The criticism Ruby stems more from her mopey attitude, sour faces and crying. People felt it was an attempt at emotional manipulation. Even if it wasn't... frankly, nobody likes someone who's always whining and pulling faces.

I really, really, really don't buy that it was an attempt at emotional manipulation.

FTR, I don't think it was because she was pretty either, I think it's because she's an incredibly weird human being. In a way that I think is great, but still, deeply weird.

I got really tired of her "It's horrible, I'm horrible, everything is horrible" attitude really fast. Even if it were entirely sincere and not performative, I still really hate that behavior because I hate getting dragged into someone else's pity party like that, even from the distance of a tv viewer.

Well, I think she's odd-looking, and certainly not "damn gorgeous". Is it OK that I hated her now? Shockingly, our opinions about her personality/presentation/attitude/skill level might vary just as much as our views about her appearance.
