...because the friend didn't like something that they had no idea that the OP made? Feeling 'stabbed in the back' is a bit of an overreaction. From what the secret says, its not like friend knew that the OP had written the fic and was choosing to trash talk it to their shared acquaintances behind OP's back.

Agreed that sucks. Other people saying "they didn't know it was yours" just means they would still have mocked it, not just anywhere you'd hear about it, and that is still going to hurt.

Sorry to hear that, OP :( People can be such douchenozzles. One reason I watch this comm is I'm a little paranoid someone might make a secret about one of my fics. Although I don't really see much fic-bashing here.

Being friends doesn't mean automatically liking everything you put out. People are entitled to opinions, friends or not.

MTE. Like, I understand feeling hurt. I would totally have my feelings hurt if this happened to me. But unless your friends knew it was your fic and were trashing it to hurt you, they didn't really do anything wrong.
