Not true. The vast majority of TV characters have had relationships with persons of the opposite sex, which means that they could be:
* straight OR
* straight, but opportunistically bisexual (people who go gay in prison, or at boarding school, etc) OR
* bisexual
and, depending on their age and the environment they come from,
* gay, but haven't figured it out yet, like one of my ex-husbands.
Furthermore many anti-slash wankers will claim that someone who's never had any relationships at all is straight.
