I hear you. I've met, and lived with, people on both ends of the spectrum. It always startles me how forceful some of the ultra-Christians can be. It makes me kind of want to say, "Woah, woah, didn't you just miss the whole point of your religion?"

And that's exactly the point I was trying to draw attention to. Naria is one big Christian allegory, while HDM has atheist overtones. However, I've been told that you can read and enjoy both series without ever fully picking up on the religious tones. It's all in what you've been exposed to and how you read into it as a kid, I think.

I thought the movie boycott was ridiculous too. For the same reasons. You read into what you want to read into and blow it out of proportion. And really, if you don't want to see a movie or read a book on those kinds of personal grounds, have at it. Your choice, right? But let me make my own choice about whether or not I want to see it.
