Did you ever read/watch something as a kid that maybe you shouldn't have?
(Anonymous) 2018-10-20 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)I wasn't super young, but I stumbled onto a few of my parents' books that had uh, slightly more adult situations than they probably would've wanted me to see. Still extremely tame by fanfic standards though, lol. I was fascinated because I didn't know anything about sex, but I can't really say it's had any long lasting effects.

I did stumble on to my mother's romance novels at one point. Started my interest in sex a little early, and I do think that I have had porn addictions at a few points partly because my interest started early and I had no idea how to handle it given the "sex is evil, girls don't want it anyway" environment I grew up in.

(Anonymous) 2018-10-21 01:06 am (UTC)(link)I stopped reading it a bit after the protagonist is violently raped by her father. Probably for the best.

Hoo boy. There were a lot of nightmares.
Re: Did you ever read/watch something as a kid that maybe you shouldn't have?
I still have phobias because of it.

(Anonymous) 2018-10-21 11:19 am (UTC)(link)The only thing that bothered me (and it still does to this day) is when my sister brought me downstairs to show me the clip from Elfen Lied, where the schoolboys steal a puppy from one of the main girls and restrain her as they beat it to death in front of her... That, and the first 'Final Destination' movie. Those like traumatized me, I swear;;
