This. Thank you. I watched those movies all the time when I was little (hell, I went to see 'Little Mermaid' when it came out in theaters and I was, like, five at the time) and I never picked up on that supposed message when watching those films. I just enjoyed the stories.

Hell, the only thing that even remotely upset me watching 'Little Mermaid' was when Ursula got all big and scary-looking :p.

I mean... watching Dumbo and Peter Pan also didn't turn most kids who watched them into raging racists but that's still a popular narrative why those movies are terrible and bad and children shouldn't watch them.
