The only reason I know Charlie Sheen used to be more than a sad punchline is because my dad watched a lot of movies he was in and really enjoyed Two and a Half Men, which was a guilty pleasure of mine. Everyone else my age only knows him from the time he went off the deep end, which is pretty sad and I wish he would've gotten the help he needed back when he had that first overdose.

Honestly, he was always an overrated member of the Estevez-Sheen family. It's always been Martin Sheen and Emilio Estevez for me.

That said I obviously hope he gets help with his mental health and substance abuse issues.

I partied (just drinking for me, I'm not dumb enough to touch hard drugs) with Charlie Sheen in 1993 once and he was a drugged-out trainwreck even then.

Kids, don't do drugs. You never know if you "can party" or you'll end up shitting your pants under an overpass with mouth sores.

I miss him from movies like Contact, Hot Shots, Three Musketeers, etc. He was such a huge crush of mine growing up and it makes me sad to see him like he is now. :/

He does have drug and alcohol issues as well as mental health issues, that's true.
However, he is also a known domestic abuser.
I can't stand Charlie Sheen.
