I tried Salvation but something about it just... I don't know, I couldn't get into it? I can't quite put my finger on what bugged me about it.

Too much politics maybe? I find myself sometimes a bit impatient with all the talking about chain of command, military protocol, secret weapons, etc. Guys, the planet is going to get smashed into pieces - focuse on what's really important!

Maybe, which might have translated into 'dry' for me. I mean I went in expecting like... Dante's Peak, or Deep Impact level of: THE WORLD IS GOING TO END AND NO ONE BELIEVES THE LONE SCIENTIST!

So maybe I set myself up to dislike it too? Sometimes I will go back to things that I liked the idea of and give them a second chance, so I might still with this.

Hee, yeah, expectations. I went in thinking it would be some kind of Noah's Ark scenario and was surprised by all the politics and conspiracy stuff. But I really liked the characters, so I kept watching, and now I'm hooked. Even got a new OT3 out of it. *g*
