Me, too, OP. I backbutton out of stories with a) people getting outed (altho that's less embarrassment squick and more fear of homophobia and its repercussions); b) truth serum love reveals; c) forced declarations of love in front of friends.

I do that if I'm trapped in a theatre. If I'm at home I'll mute it and look away or fastforward if possible.

I don't think I've ever made it all the way through an episode of The Mary Tyler Moore Show without flipping away and then back again at least once because I couldn't handle the second-hand embarrassment.
