How do you like your tea?

(Anonymous) 2018-10-23 11:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Strong/weak? Black/herbal? Loose leaf/teabag? With sugar/without? With milk/without? With fruit/without? In a mug, or in a teacup (or in a jar?)? Etc?

strong, black, loose-leaf tea with nothing added, in a mug. usually Chinese black tea for preference, sometimes lapsang souchong.

Leaning more toward strong (I need some flavor), either green or white, loose leaf, no sugar/milk, in Asian style teacups.

I want to like tea, I really do, but no matter whose tips I follow for the perfect cup of tea (water temp, steeping time, etc) it always just tastes like dirty water. But I suppose considering I take my liquor neat and my coffee dark roast and almost black, there's just no tea strong enough for me.

If I had the right tools I'd want to try true tea-ceremony level thick koicha, though.

As a general remark, the correct way to make stronger tea is to use more tea and keep everything else the same. I don't know whether that actually helps you, of course.

I'm also curious what types of tea you've tried, because there's huge variations in flavor profile across various kinds.

mostly black teas, because herbal definitely could never get strong enough, though I do enjoy a decent green tea in the rare occasions I can get some when I'm out at a restaurant. green has its own unique flavor that doesn't compare to anything else, but I don't always want that flavor.

I like my tea like I like my women...I’m not really into women.

...I’ve been reading too much /r/jokes lately

I like my tea like I like my men, dark, bitter, old, and picked up from all-night shops at three in the morning.

Strong. Black, green, oolong or herbal. Somewhat prefer loose but some kinds I love only come in bags so I'll take bags if that's the only option, for example I love Yorkshire Gold but I've never seen it loose. No sugar. NEVER milk. No fruit. (Some fruit flavors are OK though.) Don't care about the mug/cup distinction but I do sometimes care about the size or design of said mug or cup.

Strong; black, green and herbal are all good; bag; depends on what purpose*; see prior answer; lemon in ice tea is good, keep it out of my hot tea (though fruity herbal teas are good, too); mug.

* If I'm just drinking it straight, it should be unadulterated, but if I'm having it with toast, milk and sugar.

Strong, black OR herbal, loose-leaf, no sugar, no milk, Lemon juice is a must and counts as fruit. Must be in my tall tea mug with the silicone lid.

Also if it is herbal, one of the teas that comes out naturally blue preferred. Those are so fun to drink.
