Insurance- Mentions of female stuff in comment

Does anyone have tips with fighting with health insurance about coverage. We (my mom and me) have decided that we want to fight with my insurance to get coverage for a hysterectomy. My doctor is willing to do it. The issue is insurance. Given my age (and my crappy, Marketplace insurance), they don't want to cover it. Already had to fight them to try to get an IUD covered.

So does anyone have tips for fighting health insurance. What sort of arguments to make, that kind of thing.

I'm no expert, but surely your doctor's office has some experience with this kind of thing? My guess is that you're going to have to argue how it's medically necessary, which includes testimony from your doctor about that.
