I remember one non-consensual blow job that Laurent ordered a female slave to give Damen.

(I liked the series too and was thrilled that I was able to borrow it from my local library.)

Oh yeah, that is true. I also think Laurent tried to have Damen raped in the very beginning after a fight, but Damen won the fight. Or something like that. But Laurent and Damen didn't have sex until the end of the second book, when they had actually established a romantic dynamic.

I just really don't recall the series ever falling into rape-to-love territory as a romance cliche. There was rape in the story, and it's a slave fic, but a lot of the usual tropes were subverted.
