Have you read 99% of fanfics?

I mean, your argument in this thread is consistently that there are a lot of bad original works. But you're ignoring the fact that the vast, vast majority of fanfic is utterly trash. And of course it is, because so much of it is, for instance, rambling nonsense written by 13-year-olds. It's okay that most fanfic is trash, there are lots of amazing ones out there. But trying to equate them is disingenuous. Most 13-year-olds do not get their 640-word songfic published.

The original comment was 'no fanfic is as good as original stuff' and i 100 percent disagree with that. There is also a *ton* of trash that's published. I mean - really craptastic garbage - we all know this.

Now i'm off to work, so - no more DW!
