I only write fanfic for children's media because I worry I'm not smart enough to write my favorite characters from canons geared towards adults IC and with the right nuance. Yes, even for shows with objectively bad canons.

It didn't used to be this way. When I first started, I wrote for more adult shows. I don't know what changed, but I wish it hadn't.
