There are degrees, though. I think the kind of commitment Hotch is shown to be making in CM, especially in earlier seasons, is over the top.

And also, if we're talking RL, it's tough to draw the line - with working hours - where it's really necessary, and where it's a result of custom and bad labor practices. For instance with doctors.

+1000000. With the exception of certain specialist careers where long operations or a lot of time on call are part of the job, almost nobody needs to be working those hours. It's how you get an entire industry made of people who are either psychos or on the edge of burnout all the time.
