Snarky, yes. But it's disingenuous not to acknowledge that you were taking someone to task for an argument they never made - that no one in this thread made, in fact. It's not that you're wrong about the cult of celebrities, it's just that you're taking out those frustrations on people who didn't espouse the beliefs you object to so strongly.

Noting that there are unique challenges to being the child of celebrities is not "talking up" in the sense that it's prioritizing those challenges above the challenges of non-celebrity children. And nobody said that the children of celebrities are more deserving of sympathy than non-celebrities - that's you and the rather heavy baggage you're bringing into the discussion. This discussion simply isn't what you're trying to make it out to be, and I think perhaps the strong emotions that this topic raises for you is clouding your ability to see that.

But yes, I can understand why this upsets you so much, if you persist on seeing this as the zero sum game it isn't.
