Considering Kilgrave is modeled very strongly on exactly the sort of charismatic and manipulative shithead who frequently does manage to spin things to make himself look like the victim or the good guy, and any horrible shit he does look like his victim's fault, it's really not all that surprising that there are people who get invested enough in his con to defend him.
