185: Also yes. People hate her because she was written as repetitive and dull. This is reflected in articles and reviews of the show and conversations with people who watch the show but don't read fic. People who work for magazines are not secretly MattMo or Mylar shippers who feel that she's a threat to their imaginary slash pairing. Nor are most of them misogynists. Nor are they anti-Latina. They are regular people who watched a show and found a character annoying. So why aren't fans around here allowed to think the same thing?

What I hate is that if you are a Mylar fan suddenly it doesn't matter why you hate her, everyone assumes it's because she threatens the OTP.

Are there people who seriously think Mylar fans expected to get Mylar in canon? Of course we don't, but that doesn't mean we wouldn't prefer them to be paired with women who don't suck so much. Mylar is my OTP, but I'd read either of them with Elle and I read a ton of Sylaire because one of my friends writes it.

What pattern? I read Sylaire because of my friend and Elle is twisted. If this is about Maya being Latina and they're blonde, bite me, that has jack to do with it, I was stoked about there being a Latina character, but the OP for 185 is right about her, and she sucks.

Everyone's storyline sucked in S2. Claire's was awful, but at least she had S1 that I could have positive memories of her from.

And I'm shallow enough that I could watch a solid hour of Pasdar and his shotgun.

Seriously. Just because you ship a slash pair doesn't mean you've totally lost your ability to reason and have opinions divorced from that pair. Slash is ~*~imaginary~*~. Yes, the (sexual) tension is there enough for that many people to see it and ship it, Sylar or Mohinder going out with a girl in the show isn't actually a threat to people who love the pair, because Sylar and Mohinder are never going to happen. I've seen support from Mylar shippers for het pairings with the guys. Just not Maya.

Maybe that's because Maya is the only woman who has ever really come up against Mylar in canon? Sylaire and Sylar/Elle and other het Sylar pairings (or het Mohinder pairings, for that matter) are easy for Mylar slashers to "support" because there hasn't been any indication that they'll happen on the show. (For now, at least...given recent spoilers, that may change next season, but that's a different discussion altogether.) But then along came Maya, who has the audacity to be attracted in canon to both Sylar and Mohinder. No surprise whatsoever, in my book, that she suddenly became Mylar slashers' least favorite person ever.

Just for the record, I hated Maya long before her and Sylar were ever on screen together. Being a Mylar shipper had nothing to do with it. She was just that bad.

自分の個人的な体験だけで人種差別か否かを判断する人に言われたくないです。あなたの友人はラテン系でこう言ったからマヤはＮＧ、でもあなたが個人的に見知っている日本人像には偶然似ているからヒロとアンドーはオッケー、って理屈なんでしょう？その他大勢のごく普通の日本人（あなたのオタクな日本人友人ではない人々）は、ヒロもアンドーもオタクで女好きで空気が読めなくて不細工、しかも日本人なんて韓国人と大差ない・・・そんなアメリカ人の固定観念の塊みたいな描写をされているヒロとアンドーに不快感を覚えているかもしれないなんて、自分のちっぽけな世界だけで暮らしているあなたには想像もできないんでしょうね。そして、そんな差別的な固定観念の塊のようなヒロとアンドーでさえ広く好かれるキャラクターになれたと言うのに、他のキャラクターはそのチャンスも与えられず死んだ方がよいと。これを差別と呼ばなくてなんと呼ぶのでしょう。この差別が何から来ているかなんて、この際関係のないことです。

一度自分を振り返ってみた方が良いと思います。
