172 - MORDANT'S NEED SECRET FUCK YES THERE NEEDS TO BE MORE STEPHEN DONALDSON LOVE. For all his stuff. Honestly, the way fandom pounces on rape and prison cliches, you'd think they'd be all over the Gap series at least. Who cares if it's a shallow reason to hook them in, once they're there, they'll be overcome with SD's amazing writing.

(Anonymous) 2008-08-26 02:56 am (UTC)(link)Okay, so looked into. I actually own at least one of those books, but not the first, which is why they haven't been read yet. I think I picked it up at a library sale just because of name recognition. Will be on getting the rest ASAP.
Young Joyse would be amazing as well. I wish there were more stories from during the time of the war to unite the Cares as Mordant. Or more stories of anything set there, really.
