I'm with you. But I do that with canned soup too. Not all the water/liquid, but a bunch of it.

I didn't even know you were supposed to put more water in canned soup until I was much older!

Isn't canned soup without added water really thick? The stuff looks pretty solid in the can. I always add the amount said to add to get the texture right and then dump half of it.
