(Anonymous) 2018-11-06 02:52 pm (UTC)(link)Isn't it just one monthly subscription for everything? When I had cable, I didn't care that there were bad shows on cable as long as there were good ones I wanted to watch to justify the cost. I also would just flip away from something if I wasn't enjoying it. Can't you just stop watching something on Netflix if it's boring? Do they tie you down and force you to binge-watch the whole thing if you dared to start watching it?
Now, I've never used Netflix so i don't know what it's like. If there are no advance reviews or the advertizing of new shows is poor or you only get alerted to stuff their algorithms think you like, then I can understand the frustration, but otherwise I don't see how this is a bigger problem with Netflix than with any other way of watching tv and movies. There's always a risk you might not like something after committing time or money to it. I'm having a bit of a "Just use the back button if you don't like the fic" reaction here.
