I've always wondered about the deal with queerbaiting...
I've never really had it happen in my fandoms, so I don't really know... but if the paring is so self aware that the makers bring attention to it, well, I'd just be overjoyed there was just as much content to reflect that;;
I know (vaguely) that Supernatural has a particularly hard time with it's writers attempting to over indulge its fanbase, but queerbaiting seems to be the least of its problems... So I don't blame you for falling for the bait?
The fact I would actually hate it if most of my ships became canon probably reflects that;; I'd be more happy knowing that no matter how much they baited, it still wouldn't happen, because at least then viewers would be able to interpret it, rather then a bunch of idiots trying to make more money by inventing another season...
