I'm so petty I get annoyed when people go over by even a couple of words. You can rewrite and revise, people...

Yes,exactly! It forces people to tighten up their prose. It bugs me when someone is all, "I went over by 2 words, lol" and their drabble is weighed down with adjectives everywhere...

ia but I'm also fine with people using "drabble" to mean EITHER a strict 100-word work OR as a general term for super short fic of various lengths. Both meanings have been in common fandom usage since at least the early 00s.
