Yesterday I got a nice care package from on online fandom friend, it was just supposed to be a paperback book but she enclosed some chocolates and a nail polish she thought I might like (she was right!). Made me tear up a little!

Blackened red, with a shimmer. Looks like shimmery dried blood in sunlight, black in lesser light. I love it!

Cute kids. One of my friends has a two-year-old and I feel like I'm really warming up to children/getting better at interacting with them?

My boss has never spent money on training for a specific program we use at work, everyone's just always kind of limped along with "good enough" on it and learning from the person before, but he said he wants to pay for it for me because I will actually get something out of it, considering how much I've picked up already and found on my own, and expanded our use of it.

So that was a nice compliment when I've been feeling like I've been screwing things up kind of royally.

There's an elderly gentleman who collects for charity outside my work, and he brings me handmade bracelets. He gave me a beautiful red leather one yesterday. I give him discounts here and there as a thank you. He's a sweetheart.

I was watching a Martha Stewart cooking show and she was saying "Spread the marinade on the rib roast and let sit in the refrigerator for at least one day... *scene change* ...and here is our rib roast. It has been in the refrigerator for one day... and I have not changed my clothes."

Surgery next week. Counting the days. Hours. Minutes.

My cat. She makes me smile when she gets so excited for breakfast in the morning and then goes and sits in the kitchen window. Just makes my whole day better.

My niece's birthday is next week. My sister is trying to get her to say how old she is. My sister asked her today how old she is and she responded, "two, happy birthday." Which I thought was cute. (She'll be turning two.) She also had fun with her shadow today, dancing around while watching it and getting close to a fence so she could touch it. She often makes me laugh and makes crappy days better.
