People were teens when 21 Jump Street series came out.
People were teens when Nightmare on Elm Street came out.
People were teens when Edward Scissorhands came out.
People were teens when PotC came out.

Depp's fanbase has always been teens. Oldman's fanbase was never teens. He was always "That weird guy, or the villain, or the old guy. Sometimes all three!"

The *HARRY POTTER* fanbase.

Not to defend Oldman but Depp’s abuse came out at a time where information was more widely accessible and in an era where violence against women is taken more seriously. Not only that once it came out people went digging through the interviews with Winona Ryder and it started to click. Oldman’s abuse was over a decade ago and it’s not like he has any fresh allegations around nor was his case so wildly publicized like idk Sean Penn.
